If more people in Germany knew about TONKIN, it would almost certainly be a classic here.

It is thought that this game has its origins between the end of the 19th and the start of the 20th century. As with many games from this period, it relates to the French colonial era. The geometry of the board is clear and symmetrical. Although the rules are simple, winning is not.

3, 5, 7 in a line!
The aim of the game is to complete a straight line using the tokens. A line can consist of three, five or seven spaces.

Players take it in turns to move their tokens one space at a time. Jumping is not allowed. The player who manages to fill a complete line with their tokens wins the game.

TONKIN is hand-made to the highest standards of German craftsmanship. The beech wood board is magnificently finished. Naturally coloured, differently textured tokens made from fine woods such as acacia and pear make the game quite distinctive.
