| The arena for this battle is a beech wood disc with a generous diameter of 49cm. There are 85 precision-cut, recessed positions for the tokens on the board and these are interlinked by a web pattern. The game is for two players, but who will be the first to use their six tokens to create a line, triangle or hexagon? The size of the shape created by a player is unimportant. A good player will manage to create shapes without their opponent realising so that their tokens are not blocked. However, defence alone will not win the game. The key is to construct a six-token shape before your opponent does. Once you have uncovered your opponent’s plans, a battle between two shapes begins that can only be won by the player who finishes theirs first. Created by Gerard Pierson, this smart game is available with naturally coloured, wooden tokens made from pear and acacia, or with coloured tokens made from maple. The game is hand-crafted by German carpenters. |
